Environmental Goods and Services
Liberalization of trade in environmental goods and services plays an essential role in sustainable green growth, one of the core elements of the APEC Leaders' Growth Strategy endorsed in 2010. According to the 2011 APEC Leaders statement, APEC economies worked on developing an APEC list of environmental goods in 2012 that directly and positively contribute to green growth and sustainable development objectives, for which APEC members will reduce the applied tariff rates to 5% or less by the end of 2015. In September 9, 2012, Leaders of the APEC Forum agreed on a list of 54 environmental goods.
