2012 International Boston Seafood Show

15 Taiwanese Aquaculture and Seafood Companies Showcased Their Latest Products in 2012 International Boston Seafood Show

Led by Taiwan Frozen Seafood Industries Association (TFSIA), around 40 delegates from 15 Taiwanese aquaculture and seafood exporting companies participated in this year’s Int’l Boston Seafood Show from March 11 to 13. Mr. J. Y. Hsu, Secretary General of TFSIA and a long time champion of Taiwan’s aquaculture industries and seafood export, said the development of aquaculture and seafood processing and exporting industries in Taiwan has been over 5 decades, transforming from simply the supplier of un-processed raw aquaculture products at the early stage to now renowned exporter of high-value-added and multiple seafood with its several well-known brands in major overseas markets. In terms of volume, the US is the largest market for Taiwan’s seafood with transaction value only second to Japan. With support from Taiwan’s Economic Ministry and Council of Agriculture, the TFSIA delegation has consecutively participated in the Int’l Boston Seafood Show for over 10 years since it is a show which every business in the trade can’t afford to miss.

During the Show, Anne Hung, Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Boston, and Peter Shih, Director of TECO Boston’s commercial division visited the Taiwan Pavilion, and exchanged ideas and opinions with Taiwanese exhibitors on how to further promote Taiwan’s seafood products in New England.
