October 2, 2014

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs launched the ‘U.S. Trade Day’ on October 2 in cooperation with AIT and the American State Offices Association (ASOA).

There were 22 US buyers/importers and sellers/exporters who were invited to Taiwan to attend exclusive one-on-one meetings and to promote their products. Over a hundred Taiwanese businesses participated in nearly 200 one-on-one meetings through this platform with Taiwan manufacturers of auto parts, consumer products, electronics, food, ICT and medical care. The Ministry estimated that trading deals through such one-on-one meetings amounted to US$282 million.

Several seminars on U.S. investment opportunities also took place, and economic development officials from the states of Kentucky, Texas and Massachusetts took part to present investment opportunities in their respected states.

Exclusive one-on-one "Match-making" meetings brought together U.S. businesses with best-in-class Taiwanese manufacturers.
